Mission

Provides administrative support for permanent personnel assigned to MATSS-1 and entry-level training for Marine Corps student personnel assigned to the Aviation Operations Specialist (AOS) Course, Marine Aviation Supply Specialist (MASS) Course, Aviation Maintenance Data Specialist (AMDS) Course, and the Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL) Asset Managers Specialist (IAMS) Course at Naval Air Station (NAS) Meridian, Mississippi.

On May 1, 1974, Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron 903, Marine Aviation Training Support Group 90 was activated on board Naval Air Station Meridian, Miss. On April 20, 1979, it was re-designated as Marine Aviation Training Support Group. On Aug. 18, 2000, it was again re-designated as Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One (MATSS-1).

Marines checking in to MATSS-1 will report to Building 330 and check-in on the second deck with S-1 (Rm 210) where they will receive a check-in sheet. If reporting after hours, you will report to the Duty Hut at Barracks 353 off of Fuller Rd/Higley Rd. Marines will ensure they have their orders (will be endorsed with S-1 at 0730 the next working day if coming in after hours).
