Colonel Bridget N. Young
Colonel Young is a native of French Creek, NY. She graduated from the University of Rochester and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2003. Upon graduation from The Basic School, she attended the Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Florida.
As a company grade officer, she held numerous billets with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 36, Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 262, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, MALS-16 (FWD) in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and MALS-11.
After graduating from the Naval War College and the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School in 2014, her field grade assignments have included Korean Theater Planner in III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) G-5 Plans, Executive Officer at MALS-14, Logistics Officer of Special Purpose Marine Aviation Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.1, Fleet Readiness Center – East, and Future Operations Planner in the I MEF G-35. From July 2021 to June 2023, Colonel Young was the Commanding Officer of MALS-39 at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton. Following command, Colonel Young attended the National War College, Class of 2024. She then served as a MV-22B Osprey Assistant Program Manager for Logistics at PMA-275, Naval Air Systems Command. Her most recent assignment was with Marine and Reserve Affairs as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Marine Corps Total Fitness.
Colonel Young holds a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University (2009), a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College (2014), and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College (2024).
